French-Argentinean Soprano Eugenia Forteza has been praised for her “soulful mood” (Opera Wire) and “fine tone and spirited acting” (Voce di Meche). Eugenia was a Finalist and Opera Role Prize Winner at the 2017 Concorso Internazionale di Canto Katia Ricciarelli in Cerisano, Italy. Recent career highlights include her Colombian debut in concert at Museo Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá, her Canadian debut as Noémie in Massenet’s Cendrillon with Institut Canadien d’Art Vocal and originating the roles of Thérèse/Dada Queen in Tabula Rasa by Jarrar-Goodwin as part of the 2018 NY Opera Fest, as well as the role of Ghost of Christmas Past in A Christmas Carol by Jarrar-Goodwin with Gramercy Opera. Eugenia holds a B.M in Vocal Performance (Summa cum Laude) from Boyer College of Music at Temple University and a M.M in Opera from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.
Upcoming engagements for the 2018/2019 season include singing Mrs. Tonti in Adriana McMannes with the Christman Opera Company, covering the lead role of Poppea in Monteverdi’s “L’Incoronazione di Poppea” with Bare Opera, joining New Camerata Opera for their “Haunted Cabaret”, New Amsterdam Opera for Handel’s “Messiah” and performing preview concerts in NYC for Felix Jarrar's new opera Mother Goose.
