Danielle Barger

SOPRANO

London based soprano Danielle Barger is an interpreter of opera, musical theater and song alike.  Danielle earned her Bachelor of Music degree in voice at the Juilliard School of Music.  There she performed many roles including those of La Gloria and Il Furore in the North American premier of Cavalli's La Doriclea. Danielle has worked with renowned artists Marilyn Horne, Jane Eaglen, Nico Castel, John Moriarty, Kathryn LaBouff, and Corradina Caporello.  She received her Master of Music degree at the New England Conservatory, where she sang under the baton of Stephen Lord, Joseph Mechavich, and Joseph Rescigno and studied with renowned tenor Bradley Williams. While at NEC Danielle’s performances included title roles in Puccini's Suor Angelica and Monteverdi's L'incoronazione di Poppea.  Danielle also sang the roles of Mozart and Donna Anna in the workshop of Steven Stucky and Jeremy Denk’s opera The Classical Style, which made its Carnegie Hall debut in December 2014  Danielle performed as the soprano soloist in Braham’s Ein deutsches Requiem with the New Haven Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro William Boughton and has also performed with Providence Opera in Providence, RH. 

Danielle performed the title role of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Patience and Josephine from HMS Pinafore with Cimarron opera. Her most recent credits include the world premier of Nelly Don: The Musical as well as Laurey Williams in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic Oklahoma! at MTH theater in Kansas City. 

Just as she was inspired at a young age to pursue classical music, Danielle has a passion for inspiring children, teens and young adults to love listening to, and also performing music.  As the music director and director for non profit theaters and opera companies, Danielle has spent more than a decade teaching and enriching children of all ages.  She has worked with large and small groups, directing projects of every size and shape from casting through production.  Ms. Barger believes it is every performer‘s responsibility to inform, teach and inspire every generation to be passionate about music and artistic expression.
