Matthew Cossack, baritone, is a Graduate Student at the Yale School of Music. He recently graduated Mannes College and was the recipient of the Mannes Opera Career Grant. Previous roles with Mannes include Belcore in L'Elisir D'amore, John Brooke in Little Women, Don Alfonso in Così Fan Tutte, and the Old Doctor in Samuel Barber's Vanessa. 

Opera News reviewed his performance of John Brooke and considered it “excellently portrayed and sung”, and Berkshire Fine Arts called him “a master of his touching, and yet bold baritone”. He previously appeared as Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro with both Purchase Opera and New York Lyric Opera Theater. Matthew received his Bachelor's degree from SUNY Purchase, and previous Purchase Opera performances include Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Peter in Hänsel und Gretel as well Frank in Die Fledermaus. Future engagements include covering the role of Figaro with the Music Academy of the West.
